Dr. Jacobson is a native of Santa Barbara, CA and received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychobiology from UC Santa Barbara with Highest Honors. He completed his M.D. degree at UCLA as a Regent’s Scholar and was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society his junior year.
After graduation from UCLA, he completed six years of general, plastic, cardiothoracic, and orthopedic surgical training at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. Further specialty training in sports medicine and shoulder surgery was completed in Los Angeles, CA before he started his orthopedic surgery practice in Bend, OR in 1995.
He is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and has been elected into the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. He has authored numerous peer reviewed scientific publications and book chapters. He developed a keen interest and love for aesthetic and regenerative medicine after his plastics rotation at Duke, and is excited by the rapid development of non-operative techniques for aesthetic enhancement.
Dr Jacobson has been a health and fitness enthusiast his entire adult life. Over the last two decades he has trained for and competed in bodybuilding competitions and has developed a keen interest in health, nutrition and wellness. He is passionate about educating his patients on this topic.
